I have a free crochet pattern from my daughter, Nina.
She is 13 and a knit and crochet fiend! Thank goodness for youtube because I am no help at all with crochet!
She made up this pattern for a headband with flowers and is excited to share.
Things you will need: Tapestry Needle, Clip on stitch marker
Gauge: Specific gauge is not important for the project.
Small flower: chain 6, join with slip stitch to form ring.
Round 1: chain 4, 1 double crochet into ring, *chain 2 1 double crochet into ring*
repeat *to* 4 times more, join with slip stitch into 3rd chain of the beginning chain, End off
Large flower: Repeat small flower directions, do not end off
Round 2: *1 Single crochet into next ring, in the same ring, 1 double crochet, chain 1,
repeat twice, then 1 double crochet in the same ring* repeat *to* 5 more times
End off, make 2.
Headband: Make a chain long enough to fit around your head, so it fits just a little snug, slip stitch to connect.
Round 1: 1 single crochet, place marker, (don't forget to move it up every row) single crochet through
all the chain stitches.
Round 2: Single crochet all stitches for two more rounds, End off.
Weave in any ends, sew on flowers, and wear with pride, Enjoy!
Great pattern! Very well done! I am planning to use your flowers on a scarf I am knitting for spring, along with a few other types of flowers. I want to embellish the scarf to look like wildflowers growing alongside a road. Hopefully I'll put a picture up near the beginning of March at the ravelry.com website. Happy yarning! --g
